Having lived in their suburban home for over a decade, the homeowners decided a backyard makeover was long overdue. The design mandate was to transform an ordinary backyard, devoted for so many years to small children’s play, to a contemporary, adult-centred “spa” and “outdoor living room”. Gone were the open lawn area, trampoline, wading pool, and in came the hot tub, pergola, dining area and gas fireplace, all accessorized by the client with an outstanding selection of designer outdoor furniture and artwork. The result is truly remarkable, and as it turns out, the kids love this space too (perhaps because they can now roast marshmallows by the campfire!). Perhaps it's time to transform your backyard?
