Clarksburg Natural Swimming Pool

UPDATE

September 26, 2011

When last we updated our natural swimming pool and landscape project in Clarksburg, ON at the end of July, the swimming pool and most of the planting were completed, while work had just begun on the faux ruin part of the design.  A very labour intensive proposition, the faux ruin took the better part of 2 months to complete.  It is now complete and looks wonderful.  Installation of the shade canopy was completed today, with only the deck and a few final touch-ups needing to be completed.  As soon as this project is complete, we will post photos of the completed work.

Cick here for the project information and photos.

UPDATE

August 2011

Picture

One year ago, Genus Loci undertook a bioengineering project to restore a 350 metre portion of Coldwater Creek.  The property owner had hired a contractor to 'improve' this stretch of creek in 2009 without obtaining Conservation Authority permits necessary when altering a watercourse.  As a result, the property owner faced heavy fines and even possible charges when it was discovered this particular creek is home to the Redside Dace, a nationally endangered fish species. Now one year on, the creek continues its rehabilitation and signs of its renaturalization are readily apparent.
